Sinuses are air-filled cavities in the skull that connect to the nasal passages. Inflammation can block drainage, allowing mucus and infection to accumulate.
Types of Sinusitis:

- Chronic sinusitis – persists for more than 12 weeks
- Allergic sinusitis – caused by allergens
Symptoms:
- Headache (especially forehead or cheeks)

- Facial pressure or tenderness
- Yellow or green nasal discharge
- Fever, fatigue, loss of smell
Diagnosis:

- Digital X-ray or CT scan
- Nasal endoscopy
Treatment:
- Saline nasal irrigation
- Anti-inflammatory medications
- Nasal sprays and decongestants
- Antibiotics for bacterial infection
- Surgical drainage in severe or chronic cases
